Love them

so thankful to have them in my life

Jocelyn Sayings...

Last night in the car on our way to Walmart, Jocelyn was whining/crying. I don't even remember why.  I was in no mood to just ignore it and after asking her to please stop without it working, I said very sternly, "Jocelyn, Stop crying." She laughed a little (maybe because she hasn't heard me talk so sternly before...) then continued. Finally I said, "That's enough." (no louder than normal but more stern.)

Jocelyn said, "Daddy, Mommy not talking nice."

Case and I lost it. Then Case told me to apologize. I didn't. I just said in my normal voice, "If you listen the first time I will talk nice, but when you don't I need to say it so that you will listen. You need to obey mommy when I ask you to stop."

I'm not sure if this made sense to her but she said, "Thank you mommy for talking nice. If you not talk nice to me I will be sad."

 3 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

Jocelyn asks daily when she wakes up if Santa brought her toys. She also seems to think I'm just being mean by having presents under the tree and not letting her open them.  And, she FINALLY asked for what she is actually getting for Christmas. I ask her almost everyday what she wants and up until yesterday it was random things she saw around the room- a carrot, a teddy bear, a horse. Yesterday when I asked her she said,  "a new kitchen and some play food." Sounds good to me :)

More Miles...

(Thank you Maddy for this edit!)

I took these pictures of Miles on Sunday when we finally had some sun shining through our window. I was so happy to get some natural light! Casey was laughing at me as I taped up wrapping paper to our bed. haha. Then I asked him if he had any ideas and he pulled out the soccer ball. I only got one shot of it because Miles fell over after this one and I felt bad, but I love the idea. Case is awesome.
If only photoshop would save the edits I've done. It's being really annoying and I keep having to restart it.

The first week and a half Miles was a complete angel- never cried, just grunted when he needed something and he slept ALL the time.  Now, we've heard a little more crying (still very little) and he likes to sleep only if held. Hmm... we're working on that one. Last night I got about 4 hours- which is average- and that has got to change pretty soon. Luckily I get to spend the time not sleeping with this little babe. He is so worth it! Love him to pieces!

Speaking of pieces... I'm currently not eating chocolate to see if that helps his little tummy and reeses pieces are saving me. I feel like I'm eating chocolate but they don't have any in them! hip hip. Yes, I am addicted to chocolate, this is good for me.... I keep telling myself that anyways.

Tangled

Picture taken a few days ago.  Joce set up all her "friends" around this pillow and pretended to sleep.  She even sang them a song and gave them each a kiss. She is a natural little mommy.

I took this little girly with me for a mommy daughter date last night. She's been needing some one on one time with me since the arrival of her baby brother. And to be honest I've been needing some alone time with her too. I miss our all day playing! We left brother up at Mimi's house and went to see Tangled. (Miles did great and took his bottle like a good baby. None of that refusing to take a bottle with this baby- at least not yet.)

It was Jocelyn's first time going to a movie in a theater.  She loved the movie, except for about one minute half way through when she asked to go home now. I thought the movie was really well done and super cute! Some things Joce said during/after the movie:
  • During the climax where you wonder if things will all work out, Joce said, "I want a happily ever after!!" Then proceeded to put on a big frowny face and make whimpering sounds until it got happy again.  Then she said, "Yay!"
  • After it was over she said looking all around, "Now how can I turn it off??"
  • On our way back to the car, "I will cut my hair so it can be brown like you."
  • When we got in our car, "I want to get my baby brother back now! Let's go get him."
ps- It was a little confusing to a 2 year old that the "mommy" in the movie turned out to be evil. She kept saying, "but that's hers mommy".   I had to explain that a few times. I don't want her thinking that mommies are bad! haha

Announcing...

 Miles Casey Egbert

Born December 2, 2010 at 1pm
weighed 8 lb 6 oz, 21 inches long

Dear Miles,
Thank you for coming before today (which was your due date).
I don't know how we lived without you.
Thank you for being the best baby ever!
The cuddles and your grunting are my favorite. You hardly ever cry.
Thank you for being part of our family and making Jocelyn a big sister.
She loves it and gives you kisses and "pets" you all day long!
 I LOVE YOU!
Your mommy

ps- you are perfect

Dearest Caseo

I made you a little gift guide for me. Fun huh?! I made it a couple nights before having Miles and then forgot to post it.  This is what it originally said- I am pregnant and can't sleep thinking about baby boy coming soon. I'm getting super excited to meet him!! So, I thought I would send you a little list of things that I'm loving right now...
I've been seeing this journal popping up all over the place and love the idea of it.  It could be my solution for journal writing. There is also a mom version which would also be really nice to keep track of our cutie kids over the years.

This is to make you yummy food. All of her food looks amazing!

I. LOVE. THIS. You know how much I've been wanting a locket to keep pictures of my babies in. I have lots that I love but the ones in this shop are all so perfect like this one.
I know it's not really the season for this, but I'm liking your idea of riding bikes together.  Something like this might be a good starter bike for me or you can always get me the cute cruiser (you know I'd love it...). Oh yes, you would also need to get me a trailer for the babes.

Yep, that is carpet getting cleaned. Sounds ridiculous, but I so badly want our carpets cleaned and would completely accept this as a present.

Apparently books are my theme this year because I'm also wanting/needing this.  My amazing Christmas present last year will be so much more useful if I could actually figure it all out and this is the ticket.

Check back often as I update this little listy...

Love, Ann

ps- most of these things are order online and have deadlines to get in time for Christmas.
