Anything for daddy

Jocelyn's first time swimming

In Maine this summer

First Father's Day for Casey

Here's the story:
I've been trying to do tummy time with Jocelyn 2 times a day. This started about two weeks ago. She really doesn't like tummy time but she's doing better and can hold her head up alot more than she used to. Last night Casey was playing with her and I told him that he should do some tummy time with her. He never does tummy time with her because he doesn't like to make her sad. I convinced him to do it at least for a little bit. So, he puts her on the couch on her stomach. He stayed by her just in case this happened to be the time she rolls. I was in the kitchen making dinner and I hear "honey, honey, hurry!" I run over to the couch just in time to see Jocelyn roll over into Casey's arms! This was a big celebration for us! At four months old she finally decided to roll over. haha- it's so funny the little things you get excited about when you're a mom. Even though I was a little sad about this happening when Casey does it for the first time, I'm glad she's finally rollin'. Yesterday was also the first day she laughed for Casey. He's been trying so hard for so long and she did it. Yesterday she was definitely her daddy's little girl.

Don't you hate it when...

... you forget the camera!! Last night we were getting ready to go to the Spanish Fork Rodeo. I was super excited. I got my cowgirl boots out, put on my American Eagle version of a belt buckle, I cleared all the pictures from the camera and made sure the battery was charged. We left our house late (Casey got home late from work, and then on our way out Jocelyn had a messy diaper) so by the time we were finding somewhere to park it was already 8:30 and it started at 8:00. We went into the rodeo and found our seats with the rest of the Egbert family and Grandpa Finch. As soon as we sat down I realized we left the camera in the car. Not a big deal right, well not only was our car parked a long ways away but we also happened to be seated in what I'm convinced was the most crowded spot in the stands. Did you know at the Spanish Fork fair grounds you can't even sit in your seat without jabbing the people in front of you with your knees and getting jabbed in the back by the people behind you? And the stairs don't go all the way to the top so if you are on the top few rows you have to climb through people to get to your seats. So, once we sat down there was no way we were getting back up. The entire rodeo I kept looking for a chance to go get the camera without having to climb through everyone. Well, our area stayed crowded the whole time.

Now don't start thinking that our whole rodeo experience was ruined. Other than forgetting the camera and no space to move, we had a blast! My very favorite part of the rodeo is the mutton bustin'. This is when the little kids ride sheep. It is hilarious. The winner of this was a little 7 year old boy. He rode the sheep like a bull- sitting up with one hand in the air! It was so cute! And of course, who doesn't love the bull riding?! I will definitely be going to the rodeo again next year, but some things will be different: I will take the camera, Jocelyn will come, I want a cute cowgirl shirt, and I'm buying all the seats around me so I can move! haha. I want to give a big thank you to Mom and Dad E for taking us!!!

Campout... kinda

So we didn't actually camp out, but some people did and there was a campfire. We had a ward camp out this last weekend at Casey's family's cabin. We had such a great time! It was soo much fun to get to know people in the ward better and just relax. I love going to the cabin! We had smores, which are my favorite, played lots of games, ping pong, fuseball, had yummy food, and stayed up till 4 am! I only wish we could have stayed longer!

Loving baths and her hand!

Some of you may know that I never ever bath Jocelyn. I gave her the first sponge
bath and have only done it twice since then, one of those times being this morning. It was really fun to see her splash and smile the whole time. She really loves baths. I guess I should say the reason for me never bathing her. 1st reason: If gives Casey something that he is responsible for concerning her and bonding time with her and daddy. 2nd reason: Honestly I was very nervous to bath her. She gets super slippery and very hard to hold on to. But all in all I loved bathing her this morning and might start doing it more often. :) After I bathed her I found out that I can do her hair in a curly thing on top of her head and this made me so excited! The little hair she has is very curly when wet. I wonder if this will stay? This is a picture of her after her bath. Isn't she adorable? I love this girl!

Jocelyn's new favorite thing... her fist! She loves to eat her entire hand! She definitely has some symptoms of teething: enough drool to soak her whole shirt, and chomping on anything she can reach including blanket, my hair, her hand, my hand, her shirt, anything! I'm really hoping she's not getting teeth yet!

I'm bloggin'

Whenever I start to talk about something for a long time Casey says I'm bloggin'. So, I've decided to start a real blog! Why not, right? I love to look on other people's blogs and thought it might be fun to start my own. I'm pretty sure it's going to take me a while to figure this whole thing out. Right now, I have no clue how to put pictures or a cute template or anything. I'm hoping this will give me something fun to do throughout the day and allow others to stay up to date on our life.
