Pumpkin Patch

Last night we went to the pumpkin patch in Santaquin.
It's the same one we went to last year.
Here's Jocelyn dressed in her Halloween best.

When we got there Jocelyn was so excited as we waited for the hayride

We started out a bit late in the evening and saw this awesome sunset!

The hayride was longer than I remembered and it was so cold!
Jocelyn didn't seem to care at all.
By the time we got out to the pumpkin patch
it was almost too dark to see anything.

We chose pumpkins as quicky as possible.
We had to feel them and take pictures of them to try to see what they looked like.
It was that dark.
On our way back to the red barn.

Today

It was a perfect fall day.
I woke up to rain pouring outside.
I snuggled up to my Casey in our down comforter.
I plugged in my new pumpkin spice wallflower.
I wore a jacket and scarf.
I ate grilled cheese and creamy tomato soup.
I bought some halloween decorations.
I made yummy cookies.

Tip- give some of the rope stuff (jute) to your toddler along with some pasta/fruit loops/beads. Show them how to string it, then let them go to town...

or throw the beads all over the house because after all they look just like balls and you throw balls.

Paintin' the Toesies

Today Jocelyn brought me some nail polish.

She sat down and pointed to her toes, then her fingernails.
She was so excited about it.
So, I set up a little nail painting station.
(which was on her new potty that we have yet to get out of the box)
We painted her fingernails and toes!
She holds very still while I do it and then she helps me blow on them.
I love my girly girl!

The leaves are changing...

Today as I went on a walk outside I wore long pants, long sleeves, and a scarf. I loved it. Jocelyn even needed to wear a light jacket most of the day. I love the feel of that crisp air. When I got home from my walk to 88 cent Tuesday at the dollar store (the best!), I pulled out all of my autumn decorations. This is my favorite season. The look of the mountains with brightly colored leaves, the smell of cinnamon filling my house, pumpkins, wearing jackets and scarfs, ooh, I just love it all! Happy fall!

Day at the Zoo Digital Scrapbook Style

I'm trying my hand at digital scrapbooking and so far I am loving it! I have really been annoyed with our pictures just sitting on the computer. Hopefully this will be a way for them to be preserved and looked at more often. Everything I used for these two pages were from a free kit downloaded off of Shabby Princess. The font is downloaded from Kevin and Amanda. Both of these sites are awesome!!

PS: PLEASE if you have any tips for digital scrapbooking or great websites let me know! I would love that! Also, about how many pictures should go on a 12 x12 size? I've never made one that size before.

I think we should pause how you are right now. My little lovely, you are getting so big. You are growing up and I can't believe you are already 18 months. I don't ever want to forget all of the adorable things you do that make me smile. Like how you cross your feet when you sit down. Or how you dance to music, moving your bum up and down, and sometimes you even do it while singing into your microphone. Or how about when you give me random hugs. Or how you do a goofy cheesy grin for the camera. Or how your curls frame your chubby cheeks. Or how you sit with me while I put on my makeup brushing the eyeshadow onto your little hands. 3 Years of FOREVER!

Mr. Loverlicious and I, Andilicious, have been married for 3 years as of today!! YAY for us! We are off to our guitar class. Wish us luck! Then we'll be eating at Texas Roadhouse. I can not wait!

By the way, he brought me home yellow and pink gerber daises! Isn't he great!

a new years resolution

At the beginning of the year I made a little list of some new years goals. The goals ranged from reading more books, trying to make specific foods, reading the book of mormon, and others. One of the goals on the list was learn to play the guitar.

We got a guitar from my parents the first Christmas we were married. Casey and I have both played around on it a little but we need some extra help. A friend told me about some classes offered through UVU. I looked through the list and decided I wanted to take the beginning guitar. I told Casey that I would work out a babysitter, he could stay home and study, and I would take the class. Well, he said no.... only if he could take it with me!

So, this Tuesday (which also happens to be our 3rd anniversary) Casey and I are taking a guitar class! This class is the first of our 8 week beginning guitar group class. I couldn't be more excited!! Learning to play the guitar with my best friend by my side. It's going to be great!

Little Talker

Jocelyn is saying new words everyday and it is the cutest thing. I love watching her learn new things. Today as she was helping me get the clothes out of the dryer she would put a shirt in the basket and say, "dadda. shurt." Then get another and say, "momma. shurt." It was adorable and she was always right about who's it was. Little smarty pants.

Later our neighbor saw Jocelyn outside and asked Jocelyn, "are you talking now?" Jocelyn replied, "uh-huh." She says "uh-huh" all the time! It's not always said the same- sometimes it's uh-huh with the huh going up in tone, and sometimes it's uh-huh with the huh going down, sometimes it's quick uh-huh, and sometimes it's uh-huuuuuh (all girly sounding going up in tone as the huh continues.). I bet that doesn't really make sense at all but it's my favorite thing ever!

Blue and Yellow?

I know I should probably be doing an update on this summer or the cute little babe, but honestly it's a bit overwhelming. So instead this is what you get... me rambling.

Here's the dilemma remember this awesome new bed set I got? And I really love the new comforter too. For the longest time I've been wanted to do a bright yellow as accents- you know make some art/pillows/lampshade. I feel like I need more color! My problem is I just don't know for sure. I need some other people's opinions on this. What do you think? Yes/No/Suggestions of another color??

August edition: What to do with a toddler?

Toddlers are very busy little people. I don't know how you mommies do it! Jocelyn is the type of child who loves to do small motor things. She isn't quite as all over the place as some other babes I know. But we still have to do activities to keep her occupied.

This is what we've done lately. She is very good at helping come up with things:

aug. 13: she figured this out on her own and loved it!


aug 14: Help mommy and daddy make muffins


aug 14: play peek-a-boo with their feet (again figured this out herself.)


aug 15: Go to zoo (post for another day... hopefully)

aug 24: Helped mommy make brownies and lick spatula clean. Side note: She is actually a very good helped. I scoop out the ingredient and she dumps it into the bowl without spilling. Also, she loves to help cook.


aug 25: Go to Thanksgiving Point Farm (post for another day...)

aug 29: Teeter totter with dad and mom



aug 30: Color with wash off markers that actually wash off the highchair a lot easier than the skin... notice the arm. (please ignore my lovely drawings. ha)


PS: This may or may not just be a way for me to brag about my cutie and the fun we have.

One of her newest favorite things to do is wear my shoes. She thinks it's so funny! They look pretty good on her huh?!

Cruisin Belize and a Day at Sea

Thursday (may 21) we went to Belize. This was another port that we tendered at and they told us we weren't allowed to leave the port area and explore the island because it was dangerous. So... we booked another excursion! This time it was snorkeling in the 2nd biggest barrier reef second only to the great barrier reef in Australia. Pretty cool huh?! Most of the pictures for this were taken with underwater cameras so I'll add those once we get them developed. Here we are suited up for snorkeling. These vests made it so we didn't have to really swim. They pretty much made us float, but are alot smaller than a life jacket. I was really glad to have them since we ended up swimming around for over an hour without anywhere to take a break.

Casey and I have both never snorkeled before and it was amazing! It was like being in Finding Nemo! Or a huge aquarium! I definitely want to do it again! At first I felt like I was going to hyperventilate or something because I wasn't used to breathing through the tube thing and not at all through my nose, but it ended up being super easy. We saw so many fish and coral. We saw one fish that was like 5 feet long and ugly. The guy in our group said it was probably a barracuda. The other fish we saw were all really bright colors- blues, greens, yellows, purple. This is after we finished snorkeling. You can still see the lines from my goggles. And again- super clear, turquoise blue water!! I was loving it and stayed in the water as long as possible.

After snorkeling they took us back to a little beach for a few minutes before going back to the ship. It was beautiful. Belize had the most turquoise looking water that we saw the whole trip. Check out this beach... palm trees with hammocks, white sand, warm beautiful water! It was heaven!

The next day was a Day at Sea. We tried the specialty drinks for the first time. They were so good! It's a good thing that we didn't have them until the 2nd to last day because we would have spent a lot of money on these yummies! This one was a mango/raspberry daiquiri.

That night it was elegant evening again. This is us with our table group. We felt really lucky to get such a great table! These people were all so fun to be with! A few nights after dinner we went to shows or lounges together. We asked them questions about drinking and they asked us questions about being "Mormon". They couldn't believe how fast we got married (9 months after first date). haha- It was pretty entertaining.

After dinner drinking a miami vice (strawberry daiquiri and pina colada). Oooh... so good!

Towel animal of the day: snake. "You know they love you when they make you a snake. I could make a snake- role the towel up, put on sunglasses, and ta-da."

Cruisin Isla Roatan

Isla Roatan is an island town of Honduras. It was like a jungle! It is so green and the plants are all huge. This picture is from the top of the ship before we got off for the day.

These people were playing the drums and dancing around to welcome all the tourists (us!)

We had another excursion planned through the cruise line. We went to a park called Gumbalimba nature park. We took a tour to see plants that are found in Honduras. This is a cashew tree. The cashew is on the end of the red cashew fruit.

We thought this palm tree was cool.

Across the bridge was the bird sanctuary. There were tons of parrots flying all over.

Next up was monkeys! I know it seems like we went on a petting zoo cruise- turtles, stingrays, parrots, monkeys! It was super fun though. You just don't see animals like that around Utah so we had to take advantage. The monkeys would just jump from person to person. One of them kept stealing people's sunglasses and trying to put them on his face. It was so funny. They are pretty smart little animals.

After Gumbalimba park I was feeling sad about not actually having gone to a beach yet to swim so Casey took pitty on me and we payed a taxi to take us to the beach for the 1 1/2 hours we had left on the island. He took us to this beach where we were pretty much the only ones there. The tide was coming in so it made the water kind of mucky but it was still a beach! I was so happy that Casey took me I decided to write it in the sand. He really does love me. Casey isn't a big fan of swimming in the ocean. He hates the salt water. So I swam around by myself for a while.

Casey loves to play in the sand though so we made a sea turtle out of sand in remembrance of Grand Cayman the day before.

Then we took some beautiful pictures of us in the ocean and kissed on the cute swinging chairs. It was so perfect.

After dinner that night I still wasn't sick of pictures. I tried to take some cute ones of us but when Casey has had way too many pictures in a day this is how they turn out.
