Mommy play time adventure

On Monday, a group of us all carpooled up to Gardner Village with our babies. In one car we had three babies in the back and two of the moms in the front. I wish I would have gotten a picture of all of us and our babies. There were 7 of us, and then our babies. I bet we looked pretty funny all walking around up there. We had alot of fun and it sure beat sitting alone in our little crammed, cave-like apartments. We love getting out of the house. It was fun to eat lunch at a little bakery and then look at all the cute witches and the little stores. I could have spent a long time looking in those little shops. I'm seriously considering going up again in the next little bit. Thanks girls for the outing and for your friendship! It's so nice that we all completely understand and are in the same stage of life: school, small apartments, babies, busy hubbys....

When I needed something chocolate

The last couple days I've been craving chocolate. Really bad. I love chocolate and love that it doesn't give me heartburn anymore, like it did when I was pregnant. That was the worst. Somehow, we have run out of chocolate in the house. So, I've turned to the closest things I could find in my house- thank you Nesquik and Nutella! The Nutella is now halfway gone.

First little family trip. Arches!

Last week Casey decided we needed to go to Moab and hike to Delicate Arch. I was kinda iffy about going. We would only be there Saturday, hike the arch, then drive back home and it's 3 hours away. It seemed like a long way for such a small thing. Plus, he really wanted to take Jocelyn and I was worried she would cry in the car and be onery. My worrying was all in vain. We went and Jocelyn was so happy the whole time. Seriously, she only cried for like 45 minutes on the drive home and that was all. She's an amazing baby. I'm one lucky momma. Casey planned the entire trip, even what I wore. He's so funny. He really wanted me to wear shorts and a hat. Weird, but I went along with it for him. We had so much fun together on our little adventure that we are hoping to go back in the next couple months! There is so much to do there and I definitely recommend going if you haven't gone or it's been awhile since you've been. We were both tired after hiking arches though so we just drove around to all of the lookouts instead of doing more hikes.

Look how big it is- we're just little tiny people by it! It's pretty amazing.

Casey spoiled me and we went out to eat for breakfast and lunch! I love going out to eat even if it is just Denny's and Pizza Hut. We really liked Denny's mostly for the memories (it's not actually that good) but Pizza Hut was kinda a disappointment for how much we paid (but I do love stuffed crust).

Jocelyn wearing Daddy's hat
She got hat hair. :)

I'm in love with baby halloween costumes!

On Friday we went to the ward chili cook off. I had to convince Casey to go and he ended up having a great time. ha! It was lots of fun to be with all of the great couples in the ward and we got to try some yummy chili. I've never made chili before so now I know of some good recipes that I need to get and try. One of my favorites had butternut squash and craisins in it- pretty strange huh? It was soo good though. We tried to get a picture of all the babies that were dressed up in their adorable Halloween costumes. Jocelyn had 3 costumes to choose from. (I just kept finding more cute ones!) I love how girly this flower costume is. Supposedly I'm taking the other 2 costumes back. hmm... we still have 2 parties to go to! ;)

Trying to get a picture of 10 babies is very hard but look at those cute costumes!

The only picture I got of all 10

Yay! Our cute family.

Four Eyes

Last night for FHE we went up to my parent's house to clean glasses. My brother, Ben, for his eagle project is collecting used glasses that will be sent to Mexico with a group of eye doctors for people who can't afford them. It was fun. I love trying on things- glasses, hats, shoes, and stuff like that, so I had to try on all the funny glasses. We got some pretty cool ones. Take a look.

Little Granny
We found these little tiny ones. She hated me putting them on her. I thought it was way funny. The first time I put them on she started crying. This is the second time. Right after I got the picture, she started crying again.

New Favorite Things

Jocelyn loves chewing on her tongue, pulling off her hair bow, play time with daddy, rolling around, and "talking". She says dada all the time. Casey is considering it her first word.

Mommy Play Time

I don't know if the babies like it very much but we love it! Twice a week the moms in our ward get together for play time. Every Wednesday we meet at a different person's house for lunch and then on Fridays we play outside. I look forward to these times every week. It is so fun! And luckily we have an awesome ward with lots of young mommies! Last Friday when we got together I took these pictures. Don't the babies look thrilled to be there. haha. At least we got a smile out of Celia. :)
Left to Right- Austin, Celia, Quintin, and Jocelyn
The boys are both active and can get around so the photo shoot didn't last long enough to get smiles out of them. If only they all just sat there like Celia and Jocelyn- they aren't getting around much yet. Austin got bored and Quintin wanted the camera.

Hayride and Pumpkin Carving! What a great week!

Seriously, it was a super fun week! We went on a little hayride on Monday to pick out pumpkins! It was alot of fun to ride out to the field and pick ours off the vine. Jocelyn was so cute holding her little tiny pumpkin. It was pretty cold, but she didn't seem to mind at all. We want to do this every year. On the drive to the hayride Casey and I argued over who was more excited to go. He won. :)
We found our perfect pumpkins!
Then last night we got together with Bekah and Sam (Bradley), who we love to play with and are always fun and make us stay up till 2 am everytime we get together. haha. Sam made a yummy Japanese dinner that we all gobbled up. It was all deep fried and sooo good! Then we carved our pumpkins. Sam's brother AJ and his wife Ashley joined us for the carving and brought us yummy donuts. Thanks guys! I had to see if it would work to carve the little one and it did! I think it turned out really cute. Casey is so funny because we carved pumpkins last year with Sam and Bekah and Casey was the first one both years to be done and it was before any of us were even finished cleaning ours out. He likes to just get it carved fast.
Jocelyn loved squishing the pumpkin guts and she is fast getting it in her mouth so yes she did eat some.
Our Pumpkins! Left to right: Bekah's, Sam's, Casey's, Jocelyn's (not lit up), mine, AJ's, and Ashley's. We are pretty much professional pumpkin carvers!

After we carved the pumpkins we put Jocelyn up on the counter with all the pumpkins and she went back and forth between all of them licking and sucking on them. It was funny! She was our entertainment for the night. All six of us were entertained just playing with her and watching her for a good hour. And to think I wanted to get a babysitter for her that night- what would we have done for an hour without her there? She can be pretty fun! We left pretty early last night cause Jocelyn was awake- if I can consider midnight early! It was for us though. We are so glad they are living back down here so we can play with them more.
Jocelyn licking the pumpkins
Oh my goodness- I just looked at the date and Jocelyn is 7 months old today! I don't know where the time went! And I'm kicking myself for not getting pictures of her on her 7 month birthday. Shoot. Oh well, just know she's super cute and getting soo much happier and fun! Everyone comments on what a good baby she is. We've done a complete turn around from her first couple months. Hooray!

My Blog Layout

I've had a few people ask about my blog layout. I wish I could take credit for it, but I owe it all to my wonderful sister-in-law Frannie! When I first started this blog she made it for me and I love it. She is very creative, crafty, and good at figuring out computer stuff (like those html codes). So, I'm sorry but I can't actually tell you anything about how to do a layout like mine. You'd have to talk to Frannie. Thank you Frannie!! You are fabulous and I love ya!

A Magical Vacation

After we went to see Wicked in Cali we went to Disneyland for two days! Although I can't seem to go go go all day like the rest of the family wanted to do, I still loved it. I want a vacation to actually be relaxing, now what's wrong with that? Who really wants to wake up early on a vacation? But I do apologize to the family for having to wait for me everyday besides the one where we got to go home- I was super excited to be going home to my baby! I really am sorry for being so annoying!

Disneyland was amazing. I've never been during a holiday, but when we went it had just been decorated for Halloween and it was so cute! Everywhere we looked we could see pumpkin mickey's and candy corn and fall decorations. It made me want to go during Christmas. I bet it looks amazing! And I loved at night when all the lights were on and the castle is lit up! It looks magical. Momma E says that the spirit of Mickey is there. haha :o)

And now for the pictures... Sadly we couldn't find our camera for the first day of Disneyland. These pictures are all from the second day, which was mostly spent at California Adventure. I need to get pictures from Frannie of the first day at Disneyland. Thanks for taking them for us!

Me and my lover in front of the castle!

The Egbert's have a tradition of us all wearing matching shirts on family vacations. It makes it super easy to pick eachother out in the crowds. Casey designed this one and picked the color, then Kyle printed out the design and ironed it onto the shirts. You will notice we all have this shirt on in every picture. :)

We decided that a picture was all we needed and didn't actually ride the teacups.

The A's in CALIFORNIA were changed into these cute candy corn!

They were cute but it made it hard to get our C and A picture we did from our last time there.

We all love to make funny faces for the pictures during the rides!

Fun Pictures!
Wow- that's one cheesy picture

The castle at night! My favorite! There was an amazing lights show that we all loved!

How we do food at Disneyland:
buy enough from the grocery store for 10 people, pack it with you to Disneyland, store in a locker (this will prevent a squished and soggy sandwich, which we ate the first day), and then on the last day spend the big bucks and eat anything greasy, salty, or sugary you can find while listening to a really loud and awesome 80s band in tomorrow land. Finally feel very sick after eating all that oh so yummy food.

Before
After

The yummy mickey shaped turtles I just had to buy.
Jess and I walked into this little candy shop and were in heaven. Yummy chocolate, candy of every kind, and all in mickey shapes. It was way cute! Oh, how we love the spirit of Mickey.

Thank again for the trip, moms and dads of us! :)

My hate of writing papers

I'm going to admit something I did, or Casey did. When we were dating I was in an English class that required a ton of writing. I had four 5 page papers to write that semester, which isn't bad, but then I had a 25 page paper too. It was hard for me. I hate writing papers. Casey was so nice and was so in love, that we spent much of our time together writing papers. My papers- and he helped alot. I did write the 25 page one completely by myself. I owe him big time though for his help.

Anyways, I still hate writing papers. I'm taking two online classes through UVSC. Last night I had a paper to write for Ethics and Values. I have come to the conclusion that I just can't think too much in depth about a subject. I enjoy some of the discussions, but overall it's not a class that I really understand. I had to analyze a case scenario using a philosopher and it was a hard paper to write. Thanks to my mom and dad for taking Jocelyn, I had a few hours of uninterrupted time to write. I got it in on time- right at 11:59pm. I'm already dreading the next one. Maybe I should start it before the day it's due this time huh?

I know, I know, more pictures. Sorry

The other day I took about a zillion pictures of little Jocey then I played with them a little on picasa. I really want to get photoshop but it's so darn expensive. Does anyone have suggestions on a good photo editing software that's reasonable priced? You'd think I'd get sick of taking pictures of Jocelyn especially since I rarely get a smile. It's not that she is an unhappy baby, in fact, she's been super happy lately. She just is hard to get a smile out of. The few pics I got with smiles are all because of Casey helping me. Thanks Caso! Love you!

Can We get away this weekend? Take me to Broadway!

I love Estelle's song "American Boy"

Yup, last weekend we went to Broadway. We went to Hollywood and saw Wicked!! If you haven't noticed I have lots of the songs playing on my blog. I've been so excited and this last weekend we finally went. Huge HUGE thanks to Mom and Dad E, and my mom for making it possible. My mom was so wonderful and babysat Jocey while we went, and the Egberts planned the whole trip and we drove to Cali with 8 of us in a Honda Pilot. The whole trip was a blast! (Although I did miss my baby an aweful lot and it made me sad sometimes.) Hollywood was nothing like I expected. It's starting to look a little rundown in some areas, but I loved it. Seeing all the prints of the famous, and the stars with names, the Kodak theater, the chinese theater, and the Pantages Theater were so ornate and beautiful. And WICKED!!! Oh, it was amazing and wonderful and terrific and everything I was hoping it would be and more! I really did love it and I'm going again when it comes to Salt Lake. Casey even turned to me a couple times and said he had goosebumps, and he wasn't even wanting to go. He ended up loving it too. The singers were fabulous and I just sat in amazement the entire show. Of course here are some pictures. What would a post be without pictures?

Case and Me in front of the Chinese Theater

Jessa and Me by the hand prints of Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, and Will Smith (his feet and hands were huge). Can't get much better than this-
except ya know being right by them, not just their hand prints. haha

Erica and Jessica measuring up to the cast of Harry Potter

For some reason all the weirdos kept liking Erica. She's a good sport.

We went into a cool mall. I love sunglasses! Case looks a little like Brad Pitt huh? Okay, maybe just to me but I thinks he's dang good looking. :)

The girls in Hollywood

We were so excited.
After the first half of it we looked down the row at each other with big open mouths in awe.

Casey and Me in the Pantages Theater waiting for Wicked to start
